About Us

It all began on the campus of Indiana State University in 1984. Brenda Coffman, a business student, began a small business from her Married Student Housing apartment called the Cookie Cabin. Her primary customers were students and faculty at both ISU and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where her husband attended. In January of 1985, Brenda began negotiating for the first retail store with the Simon Property Group who are the largest mall developers in the country and the owners of the Markland Mall in Kokomo, Indiana.

Blondie's Cookies became an Indiana based corporation in 1985. On September 3,1985, the first store opened in Kokomo. One year later, the second store opened in Anderson at the Mounds Mall, and three weeks later, the third location opened in Muncie at the Muncie Mall. After experiencing difficult times at the Anderson location, it was closed. But, at the same time, another was being opened on the Campus of I.U.P.U.I in the food court of the University Place Hotel in Indianapolis. Three years of successful business passed before the fourth and fifth locations were opened in Terre Haute at Honey Creek Mall and the Hulman Student Union at Indiana State. After three more years of successful business, we opened a sixth location at University Park Mall in South Bend, Indiana. This was our largest, highest volume store until 1997 when we opened our 7th location at Glenbrook Square Mall in Fort Wayne, one of the largest malls in Indiana. We have since closed our food court college locations one at I.U.P.U.I and the second at I.S.U. When the term of the lease was up we decided not to renew our leases at either location so that we could focus more on regional and super regional mall stores. Growth and change has continued into the new millennium with a new classic gourmet look. Two new stores were opened in Indianapolis, our eighth store opened at Keystone at the Crossing the Fashion Mall, in August 2000, and our ninth store opened at Greenwood Park Mall, Greenwood Indiana in November 2000. In 2010, we opened four locations in Florida in the Tampa and Sarasota areas. Three near Tampa are the Shops at Wiregrass, Citrus Park Mall, and Brandon Town Center. The fourth opened in Sarasota Square Mall in October. Many things have changed over the years but one thing never will, that is our dedication to selling the highest quality Cookies and Brownies possible.

Blondie's future goals include opening two or three more locations in Indiana, then expanding into neighboring states. We have learned to diversify into other areas to complement our line of fresh baked cookies and brownies. These include hand packed party trays, gift boxes, gift towers, custom decorated cookie and brownie cakes, all occasion canisters, gift bags with all occasion toppers & gourmet cakes, etc... These items have helped Blondie's to better serve our customers' personal as well as gifts and business needs

About Our Product: The original recipes were developed over a seven year period. When the first Blondie's opened, we had a variety of eleven cookies and one brownie. Today we have over twenty varieties of cookies and three types of brownies and our newest product called Chewies. Blondie's cookies and brownies are baked fresh daily. The cookies not sold are donated to local charities at the end of each day. Blondie's uses brand-name, all-natural ingredients to make our cookies, like farm fresh eggs, pure vanilla, pure cane sugar, plump juicy raisins, fancy pecans, Hawaiian Macadamia nuts, English walnuts, creamy peanut butter and rich velvety chocolate. Brenda says it best, "I can make a cheaper cookie, but then I wouldn't eat my own wares and our customers wouldn't come back."

We are very proud of our fresh made products. We use no artificial flavors or preservatives, so every bite will be as fresh and wholesome as if you baked them yourself.
